Acts 10:9 “On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:”

The difference between the first church and the church in some parts of the world is that ministers understood the source of their relevance. They knew that beyond the lights, and the shares, there was an obligation to minister unto the Lord in prayer. Prayer formed the better part of their ministry.

The verse shows us that Peter went up the house top to pray, from where he fell into a trance. Most people seek the trances but they do not seek what produces the trances.

The extent of a man’s ministry is defined by the extent of his prayer life.

When you learn how to tarry in a place of prayer, not to ask for material experiences but to have communion with God, your spiritual life begins to carry so much significance.
